THIS WEDNESDAY: Broadskills Beer 'n' Bites
Broad Skills, a local start up in Vancouver which aims to teach practical skills and knowledge to women, is hosting their next class, titled “Beers and Bites” at The Cascade Room this Wednesday, October 19th 2011 at 6:30pm. Tickets are available at www.broadskills.ca
The class will be taught by Ian McKay from Driftwood Brewery and Leah Heneghan from Vancouver Craft Beer Week. In class, the processes of brewing and tasting various beers will be discussed, as well as sampling five of Driftwood’s beers. The Cascade Room will also be offering appetizer style food pairings based on the beers selected by Driftwood.
Broadskills classes are open to women only, with the intention to have local experts share knowledge and skills with women, in a fun and non-intimidating environment. This class on beer, as well as future Broad Skills classes, will focus on topics that are not frequently taught elsewhere.
For more information please contact: Miranda Liu at: info@broadskills.ca
About Broad Skills:
Like most of us, you’ve probably had a moment in your life where you’ve said, “I wish I knew how to ___”, or “I wish I knew more about ___”. We’ve started Broad Skills to help fill in those blanks, by creating a variety of ladies-only classes that will teach you practical skills you may not have had a chance to learn yet. Want to learn how to change a flat tire? How stocks and bonds work? Play poker? Created by two fun, local ladies, every class is designed to be informative as well as entertaining, so the next time you need to know how to fix a leaky faucet or what a good Scotch tastes like, you already do.
Upcoming classes:
• Barbeque Basics • Personal Finance • Bicycle Maintenance • Poker
...plus more to come! Tell us what you'd like to learn.
