Kale & Nori for hosting the second "Bitter Sling Bistro" event at Legacy Liquor Store. Featuring Cascade's (and soon to be The Union's) own Arthur Wynne, the bartending challenge last night was to create cocktails using Maker's Mark bourbon to pair with the evening's food.
The drinks Arthur prepared started with a cocktail of Makers Mark, fig gastrique, roasted yam puree and prosecco; followed for the main course with: Makers Mark, chamomile simple syrup, thai basil leaves, cilantro, lime and soda water; and finishing off for dessert with Makers Mark, okanagan apple compote with cracked long pepper, apple juice, cigar infused cream, flame spritzed with ceylon cinnamon infused rum.
So, we may be a little biased, but we think Arthur did a brilliant job!
